Pleasant, slightly sweet, aromas of chestnuts and sultanas. Very nice, but not particularly complex, reminding you why Madeira not only can age, but needs to age. This would be a good one to revisit in 30 years.

Nutty black walnut aroma with notes of plum, prune, raisins, red berries and coffee. Honey, caramel and red berries on the finish. Kind of reminds me of nutty chocolate milk. Complex, rich and sweet, but perfectly balanced with acidity. This has a long life ahead of it.
Kept extremely well in the fridge for a few weeks. Some sediment. Cork in good shape

Bottled 2017: Having tasted many old and yound Madeira, this one's a keeper. Dark amber in color; expressive cookie dough, bourbon nose that tells a story that won't end for many years. Rich/supple attack though precise and not overwhelming. Impressive balance for a young wine and shows brown sugar and vanilla extract to compliment two dimensions that will gather more with age. Quiet on the midpalate, but shows immense promise on the finish. Look for this wine with more cask age. If you score this wine below a 94, check the bottle date. 10+ years in cask will make this outrageously better.

Cork removed easily. Tawny bricking but caramel center; medium aromatics, raisins, dates, walnut; richly textured and full bodied, sweet, high acidity which really kicks in through the midpalate and finish, high alcohol but well integrated other than just a slight touch of heat on the finish, dried dates, caramel; long finish. This certainly isn't the most complex Madeira that I've had, but the balance is very nice and it's lovely to drink. It's a bit expensive though compared to the Rare Wine Co series, which I think is as good. 89
