Light yellow. Sort of a classic nose with lemon juice and peel, spring herbs, arugula. Well balanced in the mouth, good balance of moderate sweetness and tart acidity. Fairly short finish.

Pale yellow in the glass and loaded with citrus fruits, apple, some red berries and incredible minerality on the nose and palate with a whiff of petrol underneath. The slate flavours get increasingly prominent with time as the wine opens up until it's like rolling rocks around in the mouth. This is light bodied and incredibly clean and pure with racy acidity and a medium length finish - terrific stuff.

I cannot deny that Wagner did better in 2004 than 2003. Very similar in profile to the kab. A little more spice with stepped up depth and ripeness. 91-92 points.

Grand Riesling Tasting (Bell's Wine Shop, DC): AP#7 Light sulfuric petrol and flowers. Feels almost a hint oxidized. Clean and decent finish. NR
