  • Another bottle with slight signs of leakage but showing no signs of premature ageing once opened. This is light and fresh and true to Prädikat, even while showing some ripeness. Impressive length and complexity on the finish, with focus on the mid-palate. This has further positive development in front of it, so long as poor corks don't negatively affect certain bottles.

  • Some signs of leakage from the cork. This has become more expressive since my last bottle. Juicy yellow peach fruit and lime zest on the nose. This was a riper profile than is typical for this vineyard, but it was delightful. Rich and relaxed on the palate, but with a pronounced acidic zing running through the middle palate, leading into a lingering finish. This seems to have come into peak form at this point. It's not an exceptionally complex wine, but it's drinking great at the moment.

  • Cork showed slight signs of past leakage, but the ullage was fine, and the wine seemed sound. Medium gold color. The nose is initially very reticent, especially at fridge temp. It became more expressive as it warmed, but was still fairly restrained. Notes of lime zest, candied citrus. Pleasant, but not a lot of complexity. The palate has relaxed with age into the harmonious creaminess of adolescent Rieslings, with a hint of zingy acidity buoying the mouthfeel. There's moderate sweetness and flavors of candied strawberry and herbs, and good persistence on the mid-palate. While I enjoyed this, I had hoped it would be a little more delineated and a little more expressive. Maybe a few more years will see additional complexity emerge. It did hold over three days re-corked in the fridge with hardly any change, so it's certainly got plenty of life left.

  • All my '05s seem to have varying degrees of leakage problems. This one looked the worst, so I opened it first. The wine seemed sound from an oxidation perspective. But it was also corked! Out if the frying pan and into the fire.

  • Tasty. Seems to have put on a little weight but it also has a nicely abrasive veneer that cuts some of the sweetness. Bright and pineapply but the fruit has mostly shed its primary fat and is now in an adolescent zone.
