Late night pop n' pour. Fairly firm and not giving much right now. Plenty of concentration of black cherry, particularly for a village level wine. Neds 5+ years to soften and open up.

Lunch at Yuzu; 9/5/2020-9/6/2020 (Yuzu): Second time having this wine. Huge whiff of vanilla on the nose and made in a high-toned style that didn't have enough structure to support. I like the recent vintages of this domaine a lot better where the fruit possesses much more finesse.

Dinner at Tonny's (Tonny Restaurant): This was another very nice village - better than the last bottle I had, probably because it was opened and air some 4 hours before serving. The nose was rather thicker and more obvious than the beautiful 2017 Fourrier Gevrey that we had alongside, with notes of meat and earth, dark berries, and then a nice layer of spice and mineral. The palate had a similar sense of thickness and extract to it for a village, with rich blueberry and black cherry fruit seasoned with more spice, earth and just a touch of violet florals. Quite delicious, if not quite as silkily elegant as the Fourrier. Still though, this was nicely shaped, with velvet tannins and fresh acidity giving it a fine sense of structure. The finish just had a touch of bittersweet bramble that threw me off slightly, but otherwise this was nice. Will continue to age well too.

Burgundy Villages 2011 and younger dinner (Traditional Teochew Steamboat, Joo Chiat Road, Singapore): A decent village. The nose was a touch quieter than the other Vosne village on the table, but very attractive, with notes of crushed violets, black cherries, and hints of earth and wood spice. Very nice. The palate had a nice sense of shape and structure to it, with fine-boned tannins and chewy acidity forming a solid backdrop for a ripe, but also clean, pure expression of dark cherries patted down with a good bit of spice, earth and a trail of bittersweet bramble drifting away into a lingering finish. Not the strongest, deepest, nor the longest - it just felt a touch hollow past the midpalate. Otherwise, fairly decent. Should get better over the next 5-6 years.

During a walkabout tasting with very small pours, so only brief impressions. Nose of red fruit and spices, elegant but a bit too light and simple for a higher score. 89-90
