Burgundy Tasting (Restaurant Schweitzer's, Stuttgart): Glass: Zalto Burgundy Clear, medium ruby color. Fine, very closed nose. A bit more rough than the Bonnes Mares. Nevertheless very good genes: Fine acidity and tannin. Juicy, good structure, long and complex finish. Needs pobably 5+ years to unfold. 92++

Not knowing this producer I was keen to try this Charmes-Chambertin, even though it is not my favorite appellation in Burgundy. Deep light ruby red color, started out light bodied quite feminine nose and body reflecting dark red fruits, strawberries, some minerality and stone. With bottle aeration, the wine gained body and density, becoming fat on the palate which reminded me to a certain extent of Bonnes-Mares, one of my favorite appellations. The finish is very elegant, silky and long, with light spice and stones. Exceeded my expectations given both the appellation and the vintage.

Lovely perfumed nose here - very serious yet typically feminine; lovely fruit expression with very fine tannins. Long and powerful (for Charmes) 91-93+
