1 hour decant. Full bodied, concentrated dark fruit right bank bordeaux. Blackberry, graphite, cedar, solidly structured well integrated mild tannin. Better 2nd day with more air. Lots of sediment.

I haven't tasted this since 2021 and it continues to age gracefully. Notes similar to my last tasting: Deep red purple hue with notes of leather, cedar, back raspberry, cherry, hint of spice with great balance and long satisfying finish. This wine has a viscous and velvety mouthfeel. Tannins are soft and well integrated. Paired with grilled reindeer filets.

With just a few weeks to go before its 20th birthday, the wine has shed its former, oaky shell, which has been replaced by waves of ripe, lush, opulent fruits, crushed stone, smoke, licorice, and black cherries. Drink from 2022-2035.

A really nice wine, deep red purple hue with notes of leather, cedar, back raspberry, hint of spice with great balance and long satisfying finish. Still pretty young.

This is my second Bellevue Mondotte, the first one 2006 vintage had a poor showing, unfortunately (the wine didn't find its balance) and I sold my remaining bottles. I have read reviews about love/hate relationships tasters have with modern style, St. Emilion.
All that being said, this was an awesome bottle of wine. It is like drinking luxury hand-woven silk. Layers and layers of silky goodness and beautiful purity of fruit that was heavenly. It is not the most complex or contemplative Bordeaux but it is a damn fine wine. Paired amazingly with a beef stew. Highly recommend drinking up within the next 2-4 years, I am not sure this would age gracefully given the high alcohol and low acidity.

(CHAT BELLEVUE MONDOTTE) #1; COLOR-very dark; NOSE-shot of Christmas, peppermint & egg nog, black cherry & raspberry; TASTE-tremendous tannins, enormous amount of fruit (classic crushed raspberry & blueberry soup), enormous silkiness on the finish, no heat, peppermint/ginger flavor, leather & cow manure on the mid-palate to the finish, profound Bordeaux; RP-98; GV-95+
