  • Boy this was showing well, much more open and expressive than in 2016 when I had it last time. Confirms that top Burgundies should not be touched before year 10. Captivating nose of sour cherry, dried meat, farmyard, spices, a Leroyesque aroma profile of "why we drink Burgundy". Very popular at the table tonight. Elegant and fresh, good mid-mouth presence, long finish. Right up my alley.

  • coravin'd a glass on the last day Beltramo's was open (bought this bottle there for $160), not great, felt almost shut down, more oak than fruit... opened and decanted a month later to show my high school son and his buddies the range of varietals, this was much better with classic BM round purplish fruit in good amounts but with enough structure / acid to keep balance... nice, too bad I didn't pick up the other 6+ bottles they had

  • During a Pinot Noir tasting dinner. Expressive and aromatic nose of crunchy, very much red berries with a subtle touch of earthiness and game. Elegant and light bodied, a real ballerina on the palate. Excellent freshness. Very delicate and aromatic wine, needs a touch more weight for a 95 score though. May be age will add that. To be revisited in 2020.
