Pearl of Burgundy Gala Dinner 2024 (Four Seasons Hotel): From a magnum, cork fell in when opening, in fact there were noticeable leak when it was brought from Singapore to Hong Kong. Fruits mostly gone, all tertiary notes with good acid. Probably no the best condition

Pearl of Burgundy gala dinner: From magnum. Cork was completely soaked and fell in even when using a Durand. Cloudy in appearance but wine was fine otherwise. Very rustic and old-school with barnyard notes on the nose, mainly tertiary mushroom notes on the palate.

Stewed strawberries with beautiful soft round fruit. Some clove spice after about an hour of air. Tannins a bit grippy on the finish. Long. Not an especially complex wine but thoroughly enjoyable now.

Burgundies with James Handford (South Kensington): Substantial, some oak (or so it tasted - JH said no new oak used), quite grippy, but enough earthy dense fruit to balance it out - a high-toned fragrance gave it lift

Rather unyielding and thin today. Fairly disappointing but may open up significantly with more time.
