Very easy drinking, would appreciate some more tannin and structure. Great drinking now but not for the long haul. Most of its structure comes from its acidity.

Pinot-palooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): cherry, berry and earth are the most discernible notes on the nose. In the mouth the wine is juicy with fresh berry and cherry flavours, some spice and a touch of tannic grip. Simple. Okay.

Moncur Cellars Pinot Noir (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): Slight metallic notes, red berry - strawberries specifically - and sweet spice and an almost candied note - perhaps some carbonic maceration? In the mouth the wine had candied red fruit that is quite confected and gives way to medium minus intensity chalky textured tannin. Simple. A bit meh for me.

Purple color, clean, transparent. Nose of violets, cherry and a hint of tar. Palate is more sour cherry, vild rasperry and some darker fruits. Some spice and tar, moderate acidity and tannins. Not very complicated, but an easy drinking wine that went well with chicken from the grill.

Aromas very much in the earth and leather spectrum. An absence of lift or freshness. Correct but frankly not that enjoyable.
