Initial nose was minerals and red berries. On the light side. Strawberry and raspberry with a little pepper. Got a little darker with more body as the night went on.

Nose of oak, vanilla, and ripe strawberries. Fruit-forward, palate of strawberry fruit salsa. Spice takes a mellow role underneath the surface. Finish of oak and strawberry syrup. Simple, but good.

Upon Opening - Red candied fruit and dull lead on the nose. Red candied fruit on palate. Grape juice. Yuck!
1-2 Hours Later - More lead and less candy on the palate now. Less like grape juice now but still one-dimensional and fruit-driven. Also, strangely, more heat is present on the finish now.
Overall - Too simple and cloying. Unless frequent drinkers of Ojai see this bottling undergoing a transformation with time I will definitely not be buying more.

(Ojai Syrah Santa Barbara County) Very dark ruby color; rich, raspberry puree, light pepper, charcoal nose; rich, tasty, tart black fruit, tart berry, blackberry puree palate with good acidity; long finish (with about 7% Grenache; 13.5% alcohol)

Dark garnet color. Nicely balanced and ready to drink. Earthy notes and spices: cinnamon, cloves and vanilla. Yummy!

Too light, too hollow. No smoke, no game, questionable it was a Syrah.

Consumed at at cellar temp: 60°-65° F. Friends don't let friends drink red wine at room temp!
