  • Smells of sugared orange, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel apple. There is also caramelised onion or mushroom which is what usually upsets me about sweet wines. Lemon marmalade, orange soda, white peach, warm honey, orange cookie.
Juicy in the palate with acidity despite the high sugar. Orange marmalade, grapefruit, green apple, confiture, apple syrup, dried apricot. Lemon soda finish, slight candy.
    8+/18

  • Bastille Days - Tours de France; 7/14/2023-7/16/2023: (from 375ml bottle).

gold colour and moderately viscous in the glass. the nose is a lovely melange of tropical fruit, sweet spices and fresh flowers and lead directly into those luscious flavours in the mouth, where a delightful citric acidity lifts and delineates them. guava, mango, apricot, peach, clove, ginger, lime zest, and other flavours play out with the just-waxy honey botrytis core. good concentration and agreable sweetness with a long finish.

it seems to just be hitting its stride and should continue to drink well for another decade or so. definite upside potential on this one.

13.5% AbV; 100% Semillon (!); eighteen months in French oak.

  • Demie bouteille.
