  • Dark, rather opaque for pinot, with some bricking. Fine sediments revealed themselves in the glass; I didn't notice them in the bottle so I failed to let the bottle stand for a while. Earthy nose, slightly muted but very burgundian in character.

Nice tart cherries and great purity of fruit, with a finish that's framed by nice fresh acidity and smoothed out tannins.

Not a wine that wows you with complexity or its concentration, but is very pure and elegant. (Just noticed that the last sentence is basically a paraphrase of the previous note on the wine ...) A little faded but still has good fruit and weight, on the downhill so drink up.

  • Clear ruby to light brick at rim. Gorgeous cherry fruit nose with a hint of stems. Expansive, lush and sweet with excellent finishing verve. Not a powerhouse, but excellent purity throughout. Doesn't wow with complexity, but I sure do like it for its charm. Perfect to drink now. (91)
