Nose has nice smokey notes. Red and black fruit. Smells high in alcohol Palate is pretty sharp to start. Red fruit. Unripe cherry. High acid. A bit tart. It lingers in the mid palate. I don't mind it even though it is pretty tart and a bit metallic. Will be interesting to let sit for a while.

ruby intense, consistent and limpid on the nose the wood is really too invasive, buff leather, note of red berries, spicy fresh on the first drink, scarcely tannic for a 4 years old nebbiolo. scarcely persistent, unbalanced

Nebbiolo from Piemonte and Alto Piemonte (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco): Light ruby, watery edge. Lovely rose florality. Absolutely seductive, supple front end with incipient complexity followed by a more structured finish which adds balance and some degree of ageability. Pretty terrific AC Barbaresco for the intermediate term.

3hr decant. Floral-rose and tar nose with reticent red fruits. Palate of bright red fruits, a touch of cedar. Not a great deal of depth. Medium body. Medium plus acid. Moderate length and finish. Structured with a bit of a tannin grip, but not too grippy for a nebbiolo and pretty good balance. I'd give it 2-3 years. Probably not a great long term cellar option.

The tannins were overpowering on day 1, 2 and 3. I wouldn't even look at this wine for at least another 5 years.
