When first decanted, this wine smelled like...poo. Seriously. Taste was a bit over the top as well, with a LOT of eucalyptus and cedar wood. Left in the decenter all night, and revisited the following evening to find that wine is just starting to come around. Poop has blown off--mostly--and the fruit is really starting to shine. Still LOTS of eucalyptus smells and flavors however, with cedar wood, big, sweet blackberry fruit, and tobacco. A very interesting and complex wine that makes me think it needs another 5 years of bottle age to continue its evolution.

Dark almost back in color. Very herbal on the nose with hints of spice and dark fruit. The palate is bold and extracted primarily dominated by loam and tannins at this stage but in the background there is some sweet red cherries. The finish is a bit bitter even with the sweetness of the tannin. What I find odd is the label of this wine says 100% Cabernet but their website says 94% Cab and 6% Shiraz. Overall the wine is a huge beast that I hope will come into balance with time.

Very nice dark fruits, balanced, round, and long.
