On decanting, a massive aroma of perfumed black fruits filled the room.
In the glass, enormous berry nose, exploding with blackberry, black plum, violets, and a clovey scent of dental surgery.
Not quite as full on the palate as the nose, the hefty alcohol and weight of the bottle made me think it might be. Don't get me wrong, you don't not notice this by any means, but there's a nice freshness to the fruit and lovely balance: you certainly don't notice the 14.5% alcohol. At least not until you stand up. Really, rather, and somewhat dangerously, drinkable.
Soft tannins initially, really firming up and gripping on the finish. Immense length.
Beautifully made wine (not an entirely backhanded compliment)
If I had more, I'd be leaving it for at least ten years till the next bottle.
As often with Chile, a very pure expression of the grape.

Dark purple, royal purple rim, high alcohol, full bodied Sharp berry 'bomb'-fruit explosion Smoke, tobacco, then dark ripe fruit, jammy long finish, dry, some acidity Some vanilla-Massive wine. Age it!
Not really my style of wine, but it should improve somewhat as it settles down. High QPR.

Containing 97% Syrah and 3% Petit Verdot, this red wine features very nice and intense red, black and blue fruit aromas, plus cedar and vanillan. Full-bodied with mouth-watering acidity, aroma replays come through on the palate along with some spice notes. Tannins are like velvet, while the finish is long with notes of eucalyptus. Yum!
