  • What to say? A heavy and thick wine, a structure almost as cream. Someone tried to put a little bit of everything in just one poor bottle of wine (black fruits, chocolate, leather, spices, mocha. A little bit more of all that and you would be drinking a port). Well, on the one hand they succeeded as there really is a little bit of everything in there. On the other hand it's really a pity, that something that could have been just great was pushed beyond all limits.

It's not bad. It's part of a category I personally call "freak wines". Some of the freak wines have a fan base, others not. Don't know about the fan base of this one, but not for me.

  • One to remember for all your life. Not decanted (not needed). On the first nose, big blackcurrant and other dark fruit. After 10 min in the glass started to develop leather, mocha and dark chocolate. 10 min later liquorice and cherries in alcohol. It does change with every sniff. In the mouth fantastically integrated and balanced with all that 15% high level of alcohol and silky matured tannins. Long and silky aftertaste. Believe wine has reached its peak. Would recommend drinking now, as it is hard to imagine how improvement would taste like. Glad to have chance to try it. Highly recommended by all standards.

  • No decant. Thck and syupy in the glass, ink dark with violet flashes. Massive concentrated nose of darkest fruit, toffee and blossoming oak accompanied by some attractive spiciness. Very overt nose, but just a tiny bit hot. Dense and hugely full bodied with all the blackcurrant fruit, chocolate and coffee you can imagine. Grainy but well- integrated tannins. Very meaty and forward. Long finish of spicy mocha and some blueberry. Enormous concentration and good complexity. Drink it now through 2012 or so - you don't want to lose that deep fruit, and not sure the structure is there for a long haul in the cellar. A true monster of a wine in every sense. Excellent if you like 'em big.
