Still brilliant red. Terrific nose giving off black cherry, ceramics, and some cola notes. Aromas of damp hay linger around good earth, but there is still a tremendous amount of pure red berry fruit. Perfumey nose continues with endless florals, white flowers, and lilies. The wine is in a great spot to drink right now providing the perfect balance of soft, ripe red strawberry, earth, and fine minerals throughout. Tertiary notes of underbrush, truffle, and forest floor present towards the end. Incredibly pure and super clean.

A weekend of Jacky Truchot; 1/28/2006-1/29/2006 (Washington DC): Sulfurous and organic nose, but not on the palate. A bit closed and not precise. Good earth and dried black fruit, a bit of blood as well. Way young and very hard. Unable to judge this wine. Over time, it did bloom with some exotic flower elements. Several hours later, the sulfurous elments dominated in a strong egg flavor and was very unpleasant.
