  • Lighter ruby color with clear rim. Nose: red & black cherry, sweet red plum, dried redcurrant, and strawberry with accents of sandalwood, incense, sumac, pipe tobacco, allspice, red rose, toffee, pink peppercorn, tamarind, and cardamon. Medium body on the palate: red cherry, dried redcurrant, sweet red plum, and strawberry framed by sumac, baking spices, rose tea, pink peppercorn, allspice, cardamon, star anise, and rosemary. Medium+ acidity. Moderate tannins. Lingering allspice, rose tea, pink peppercorn, cardamon, and rosemary on the moderate/long finish. Richly elegant red fruit with complex, exotic spice accents. Textbook Rosella's. Pair with pork tenderloin, a variety of duck preparations, herb-stuffed roasted chicken, pan-seared salmon, smoked salmon, or goat cheeses. Drink over the next 4-6 years.

  • Color- medium claret.
    Nose -pepper/berry
    Duration - medium
    Body - medium
Flavors were a pepper>berry mix but not overwhelming or even that strong on either end. Not much complexity to it but no tannins or dryness that sometimes comes with California Pinots, at least in my opinion. Pleasant, goes well with moderate body foods and even with a grilled salmon filet (I thought it might overwhelm the fish but it didn't).
