Burg lunch at Summer Pavilion. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Lovely mineralite nose. Just a shade less direct expressive as the 2013 Chenevottes I had 3 years ago. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of chalk and stones minerality, citrus lemon, white peach, yellow pear. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of very chalky stony minerality, citrus lemon with slight oil, white peach. Long finish. Very good quality. Good stuff. Mineral showing more than fruit. Could develop more.

Deeper colour, softer, more mature than I anticipated but no shortage of fruit just not quite so much tension and mineralite that I normally associate with this vintage/ grower. Lovely to drink now, not sure i'd keep this if I had more, but not going to be a problem on that score...

3 bottle from a case. This wine is a little riper than one would expect from the vintage. Maybe it’s the plot or maybe it’s botrytis. Definitely a bit more honey than I would expect from the Domaine. However excellent winemaking overcomes it for the most part with enough acidity to keep this delicious. This is an excellent drink for a sunny day or with roast chicken.

(Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie) Very light yellow color; pear, white jasmine nose; delicious, poised, lemon, mineral, white jasmine palate with medium acidity; needs 2-3 years; long finish

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Lots of apple. Slightly leaner vs Chenevottes but longer, better textured and more my preferred style of wine. Very good now, better in a few more years.

Knightsbridge Wine Shoppe - Annual Burg & Champagne Tasting (Northbrook, IL): Walk around tasting, brief note. Bright and tropical nose. Power and richness in the mouth with a big acid pop on the mid-palate. Long with melons and tropical fruit in the finish. Young and loaded. 92-94
