lol at my old note! I did NOT finish my remaining bottles because my house flooded, I lost 70% of my cellar, and the rest has been sitting in storage while I "wait" on house insurance.
this is still drinking very well. fruit is dark and a wee raisined (even for Infern) but otherwise, my old note is spot on.
velvety smooth little thang

Fully brick color and nearly translucent, intense and beautiful nose, once high acid has melded into a rather quaffable texture=drinking great but not sure if this has much room to improve. Will finish my remaining bottles within a year

Unmistakably Nebbiolo in appearance and bouquet. On the palate this wine is quite a bit softer and more fruity than Barolo or Barbaresco. Lots of cranberry and some rose petal. This is actually a very nice wine. Well made. I would compare it to a very good Langhe Nebbiolo. The problem, of course, is that you can get Langhe Nebbiolo (and even some Barbaresco) for less than the price of this wine. I think it's a good wine to try once out of curiosity, but I will stick to wines from Piemonte.

Medium-light color. Nose of cooked raspberries, which carries on to the flavors. Finishes with high acidity, which has kept the wine in a prolonged youthful state. A much lighter rendition of nebbiolo than Barolo or Barbaresco.
2ND DAY: Softens quite a bit as nose and flavors coalesce. Improvement in the 2nd day indicates the wine will continue to develop with time. A good argument for wines with low pH and high acidity — provided they have fruit — develop better than those with high pH and low acidity, even tho the latter may have high alcohol and tannin (e.g., Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.)
