  • Good wine, some ripeness (valtellina) ; could be better in a few years?

  • Unblended Nebbiolo wine (locally called Chiavennasca) from terraced vineyards in the subzone ‘Inferno’ of the Valtellina appellation. Opened about two hours before drinking. Translucent garnet-red in color. Scents of sour cherry and cranberry on the nose combined with nuances of anise and tar. The light-bodied palate shows notes of blueberry fruit and rhubarb, but the wine lacks elegance and the tannins are still a bit rough. Reasonable aftertaste.

Redelijke afdronk.
