I may have asked Nick a few too many wine questions over the weekend, so here are some tasting notes in an attempt to settle the score. The 2011 has been my favourite Rêveur vintage. Acidity and pepper reflect what was a challenging vintage, but which also resulted in complexity and a wine that speaks of time and place. Now slowly developing that classic Rêveur richness, tertiary development also beckons. I look forward to enjoying my remaining bottles over the coming year. 13.9% ABV.

Mellow red colour, more medium body than light . The nose shows big dark pinot fruit of the savory style, that is deep and full but not complex. Big and round on the palate with smooth tannins and lingering medium-dry finish. This wine is showing a little age with softer fruit and fuller mouthfeel with a slight tartness. Better with food.

Moncur Cellars Pinot Noir (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): Medium minus intensity aromas of earth, red berry, slight spice…in the mouth the wine is wet, juicy, with red berry and fine talc like tannin. The fruit carries on quite long finish which introduces a slightly bitter notes. Hmm.

Tasmania Unbottled: Good aromatic lift - florals, cherry and a earthy component. Well balanced, it doesn't have complexity yet but it should show some with time.
