Fine Vines Fall 2018 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Ripe black and plum aromas with some braised meat. Both black and red cherry flavors come across as both dense and well balanced. Getting close to its peak drinking window, definitely 90+ point potential.

Sunday afternoon late lunch (My Place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Rich, dense, tending to black fruit spectrum, very polished. Equally polished on the palate. A little big for me at the moment. Time required.

Time to Taste 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's): Courtesy of Jim, this was atypically "big" for a Burgundy from his cellar. Aromas of black cherry, sous bois, tea leaf and plum. Firm tannins with ripe dark fruit and macerated black cherry. Rich and "extracted."

End of Project Supper 3 (Mere Catherine, Potts Point): Cherry and slight candy floss, caramel and spice on the nose. In the mouth the wine is juicy with spice and cherry and a bit of alcohol warmth on the finish. It's rather nice but is still a bit young.

Slightly funky, red berry, unripe cherry, spice, slight leather, toast and coffee. On the palate red berry and cherry, spice, long, the acidity is lively and juicy. It's still quite simple and primary in the mouth though there are tertiary characteristics on the nose. The last bottle shall be put away and forgotten about for the next 3 years.
