When I cut off the wax, it was clear there had been some seepage. Cork was mushy and red all the way through. It had clearly taken in some air. It was over the hill, despite being a 3L bottle. It wasn’t undrinkable, but it tasted like an over the hill cab. What a shame. My backup was a 2005 Peter Michael Les Pavots, in mag, which was excellent!

This appears to be one of RP's rare mistakes by rating it so low. It is simply gorgeous! Profound and complex nose with currants, dark fruits and spices. Full body and very elegant. It still tastes fresh, so it can easily go another 10 or 20 years. Good finish too.

Not sure why RP rated so low 14 years ago... Enjoyed 4 bottles with friends to celebrate a birthday. Did not decant but left the bottles open for 2 hours after a slight pour. Wow!!! The wine still possesses dark fruits and a long finish. The tannins have calmed down from last tasting (5 years ago) but still present. It is very complex and representative of the great cabs from To-Kalon. Probably past its peek but should drink well for a few more years.

Great bottle of wine. I gave it 2 hours of air after decanting, a bit cloudy, but what a beautiful flavor! Dark fruit and vanilla dominate and tannins are mostly gone. Just barely past its peak.

What a great surprise. Hard to believe an off vintage. Substantial depth and structure.
