Dark stewed prunes and raisins fighting with airy and complex cherry, and spiced more traditional vosne ness. Definitely 03 but still holds glimpses of regal charm. Open for business and a pleasure to drink now. For my taste in a good window.

Lunch à l'État Major (Restaurant l'État Major): Quelle élégance! C’est délicat et puissant à la fois, le millésime m’a scié. Frais et d'une grande classe, rien de dépasse, c'est impressionnant. 94 pts

Excellent. No 2003 overripeness or jamminess. Great balance, complex smell with spices, leather, bacon, cinnamon, red fruits...etc, , good grip, fine tannins, long aftertaste. Mature.

[Grand Millesime's "The Gros Family Richebourg 1949-2012" Dinner at Circa Restaurant, Melbourne] Deep dark crimson, purple rim. Extremely ripe, port-like black cherry bouquet with notions of warm earth, dried flowers, cassis, kirsch, black cherry compote, mocha, meat, game, spice, toast & fully absorbed oak. Full, deep, intense, powerful & concentrated, lush & supple black fruit flavors seamlessly assimilated with quite substantial velvety tannins, ripe extracts and medium fine acidity; while being quite dense, powerful & sumptuous, the lack of finesse & grace makes it just a very fine hedonistic wine of excellent structure & great harmony, but not necessarily a great classic Burgundy. Long, plush & slightly firm finish.
