  • PNP - drank given this was showing up in the "drink by 2017" end date in CT.

Dark red color. Tobacco, earth, mushrooms, blackberry & cigar ash on nose.

Very nice. On palate, sour cherry, tobacco, black currants and nice minerality. Medium body/acids/tannins and long finish.

This really surprised me - I thought this was a "modern" Rioja a few years ago but it has evolved into a nice savory Rioja, granted with more body than a true old school producer. 92+/-

    Awesome QPR!

  • East meets West with Sierra Cantabria. Bold ripe new world fruit and plenty of oak meets earth, acidity and tannins. Stylistically, very masculine w red fruit, spice and plenty of acid and tannins at this point. Lots going on and will need time to settle and integrate.

  • Very distinctive. The nose is exactly like opening yur grandmothers China cabinet. The aromas are old dusty wood and leather (I don't mean that in a bad way). On the palate, there is a woody pomegranate flavor with a bit of currant and berry supported by a forest floor component just like oak leaves. Extremely expressive wine. Wonderful flavors. Went perfectly with a roast chicken and sweet potatoes.

  • Aerated into decanter and drank with Chimichurri chicken on bone. Dark red color with no sediment. On nose, vanilla/oak (mild) with black cherry, plum & blackberry. On palate, medium body, medium+ acidity with a medium+ to long finish with mild tannins. Black cherry, plum flavor profile. Very balanced and great with food or on it's own. Given price should have bought six bottles. International / modern style of Rioja but very nice for what it is. 90-91 range. Would buy again.

  • It was okay. A good weekday sipper, nothing to think about.
