ABV: 13.5%. At approximately 18-years-old, this wine is still very young with a lot of potential in its future. The nose exhibits roasted herbs and tea leaves with a hint of cigar box and leather, which all slowly fades into the background (after about 30-45 minutes) to reveal dark red fruits (think raspberries and dark cherries). The acid is well-integrated, keeping the wine intact, yet lifting the fruit and herb profiles on the palate, and pushing them towards the lengthy finish. If you're planning to open your bottle soon, be sure to decant it for about an hour because this wine will easily cellar until the 30-year mark (2034). Note: Paired beautifully with Chinese BBQ pork.
8/15/2022 - Raised the score by one point (from 94 to 95). A lot more expressive on day two with ripe plums and bramble berries on both the nose and palate, as well as what seems to be a lengthier and fruitier finish. The texture is much softer on day two, but this wine is definitely too young to open now. Plan on decanting this wine for a few hours (instead of my previous suggestion of one hour) before serving if you're impatient.

Not old but past prime. Decanted about an hour and also had a glass the next night. Nose relatively quiet with spice and old wood, no fruit. Taste of cherry and spice with little heat finish. Overall, consistent with bottles had at younger ages. Nice but lost its wow factor.

Spanish education session (Delicado Wines, Sydney): Oxidised, sulphur and leather on the nose. In the mouth it is tart, bitter and astringent. FLAW

Drinking quite nice. Smooth with cherry / plum flavors. Only thing lacking a bit is the nose which is rather non-descript. Nice bottle for low $20's.
