Lunch at KC's (KC's place): Very slight kerosene, honey, cream, slaty minerality, apple and custard apple. nice nose. Medium plus intensity acidity but with a sense of glycerol richness on the palate, similar fruit profile that honeyed note more to the fore as well. Yum.

Light gold color. Nose opens with lime and grapefruit, slate and mineral notes. The fruit dominates. Palate is balanced with fruit sweetness and acidity. Long.

Light gold color. Gorgeous aromatics: orange peel, grapefruit, lime juice, mixed with chalk, smashed slate, honeysuckle and minerals. Ripping acid on the palate, this bright and precise. Lovely vivacity and drying appeal, but plenty of ripe orange, kiwi and guava flavors. Complex elements of crushed chalk, white pepper, quinine, mineral water, honeysuckle, slate rocks, mountain stream. Complex and wonderful, long, pithy, bright finish. Great intro to this producer’s style.

Rieslings at Weygandt (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Great aromatic display of saline, potpourri, white pepper, guava and lime juice. Pristine palate, great balance between acid and richness. I get guava, kiwi and orange marmalade flavors, laced with complex minerals, slate, white pepper and chalk. Long, age-worthy but very pretty and complex.
