Very impressive, this is bright, juicy and fresh, already a surprise from 03 even if this is a St.Estephe. Still quite primary fruit, with loads of blackberry and wild strawberry flavours, not the slightest hint of burnt fruit or dried raisins. The finish is long and lingering, so for the price paid quite excellent value - like a good Ormes de Pez at half the price and not far off in quality from Haut-Marbuzet. It will probably improve further.

Deep violet in color, opaque. The nose smells ripe and lush, with dark berries, flowers, earth, and creamy oak. On the palate, this wine is still a bit tight, but shows decent fruit in a fairly unrefined structure. The tannins are beginning to integrate, but are somewhat harsh. The finish is a bit short, but it is still a very fresh wine.

I gave it 20 minutes of airtime. Black colour. Black fruit on the noise, but the taste of fruit was not apparent on the plate. Very dry and unusually acidic that seemed out of balance. Full and very tannic. Average length on finish. I am not sure if more aging would be beneficial given that it tasted off balance. I will have another glass tomorrow to see how it evolved.
