  • This was a great wine and a big hit with deep, dark fruit flavors. It should have decanted for an add'l hour.

  • I have to say that this was good, but there was a very disjointed feel to it. It began very floral on the nose with a little cherry and very slight tar. The mouthfeel was very nice and smooth and the tastes started out as citrus (yikes!), like grapefruit, and moved to a very silky, black fruit wine. The major problems were the high acidity on the front of the tongue and the strong bitterness that did not feel like it belonged with the rest of the flavor profile. And the bitterness was not like a chocolate/coffee bitterness, it was more like a grapefruit bitterness due to the acidity on the front. The finish was also very short almost like it jumped off of a cliff. Overall, a disjointed and disappointing effort from Rutherford (absolutely no dust in the tannins, went from silky to harsh and astringent). Maybe too old? or too young? I don't know, but I would not recommend this for the price.

  • An excellent blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Dark red color with a big nose of dark cherries and raspberry jam. Full bodied with nice fruit flavors mixed with oak and a long finish.
