Screwcap, 14.5% alc. Youthful, dark, burgundy colour with quite a lot of purple. Very fine sediment.
Interesting nose of malty oak, licorice, blackberry, pan juices, a tiny hint of Band-Aid? Plum, coal.
Medium bodied with fine dusty tannins still plentiful. Fresh and refreshing, and the high alcohol is nowhere to be seen. Fruity and savoury at once; a very good food wine.
Opinion: I tend to think of this as a cheap wine that’s taking up room in the cellar, but every time I open one, I’m rewarded. Quality GSM blend. Some over–ripe/baked flavours after three days open, but still enjoyable. Heavy bottle!

Screwcap, 14.5% alc. Beautiful and vibrant dark crimson with purple hue.
Coal, blackberry, pan juices, raspberry, sarsaparilla, spicy oak, and a slight green herbal note; rather savoury.
Wonderfully composed and balanced palate; all in harmony. Fine tannins, oak, fruit, and acid all in balance. Even better with air.
Opinion: Really lovely wine; surprisingly so. Time has already given this a savoury edge. Not sure what additional extended ageing would achieve. Drink now through 5 years.

A very nice example of the BV workhorse. Smart, balanced and I can state elegant (in a ripe kinda way). Would not have picked as South Australian. Time has helped smooth edges I think. Drink now.

Day 3 lunch company cruise. Screw-cap. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, sweet spices. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol (14.5%), soft amd smooth medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, licorice, black pepper. Long finisblh. Very good quality. Reliable wine from a reliable producer. Old vine Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro. Drink and enjoy over the next 3-4 years as it ages. No need to wait too long.
