Screwcap, 13.5% alc. Light and bright, pale gold with hints of green.
Creamy nose of preserved lemon, nougat, melon, delicate almond, oyster shell, a hint of mango, pineapple, and vanilla.
That creaminess extends to the palate upon entry, yet the wine finishes with phenolic grip and mouthwatering acidity. Oak is beautifully judged. Only mid-weight.
Opinion: refined. Too powerful to be called delicate, but very polished. Needs more time to flesh out.

Blind taste night at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Screw-cap. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon-lime, reductive flint minerality, bits of oak. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon-lime, green apple, then ripe tropical melon fruit, pineapple, honey oil, bits of butter oak. Medium finish. Good quality. Nice mix of fruit and with probably just the right touch of oak. Elegant restrained quality. Perhaps lacking some verve to impress more. Drink up. Day 2: actually tasting better. Smooth butter. Controlled fruits.
