  Will Davies got it spot on in the previous tasting note - all that funky goodness comes out 2 hours in. I served this just above cellar temperature - lots of black fruit, funky mushy forest floor. I like this producer - the wines have a feral tang about them that I like. This needs another 2 years to really funk-out but there is a decent balance about this. Wont make old bones, but if you want a tang of feral Burg action on the cheap then this is a good place to start.

  Very much a product of its vintage and place, this has perfectly ripe strawberry fruits with a solid constitution. After a couple of hours some gamey notes appear. Fine, grippy tannins and some cinnamon notes provide the structure. Elegant, confident and with just enough complexity, this is lovely stuff.

  A quick stop by the Sampler (The Sampler, South Kensington): Clear medium purple color.
  The nose is clean, med intensity, nice structure and firm, spicy with a bit sulpur in there too, dense and closed still but feels promising.
  The wine is dry, medium body and intensity, firm tannins (for a pinot noir), nice structure with red fruits and a thin oak layer, spicy as well with cinnamon , nice balanced and med+ finish, sulphur biting again, too fresh.
  Very good quality,lay down.
  89+ for now
