Jason’s ‘top’ village Burgundy (67 Pall Mall, London): Sweet red fruit on the nose, quite spikey on the palate with the wrong kind of energy which was all the more challenging as did not seem Pinotesque and another diner speculated if it would be identified as Gamay were it to be served blind. From Zalto Burgundy.

Jason's 'top' village Burgundy (67 Pall Mall): I found this somewhat challenging - not surprising, given I'm a slight wholebunchphobe. Banana sweets and acetone on the extremely bright, stemmy, high-toned nose, that verged on the confected but luckily settled down with air. Tasty on the palate, rather pretty, but primary and with a bitter finish.

Jason’s ‘top’ village Burgundy (67 Pall Mall): ‘Grappes Entiers’. Lighter coloured, purple tinged ruby hue. Floral lift with fraises de bois that comes through on the palate as a strawberry confiture. Vanilla topnotes. Strawberry and. Little lighter and brighter. Not quite the mid palate density currently, but so pretty. ****
