Light red color. Aromas of sour cherries, minerals, strawberries and pomegranate. Ripe, highly structured fruit in the mouth with very good depth and length and refreshing acidity. Tense and complex on the palate. At peak.

Soft but taught with smokey strawberies and a spring field of quartz and copper followed by a creamy, juicy, cherry pit finish. Shifts and unfolds with air.

Showed a strong aroma of strawberry preserves with a floral lift, which repeated on the palate. It's not my favorite flavor or charactaristic though I was ultimately impressed by the wine overall. Good fruit concentration, medium freshness. Evolved well over two hours with good, solid tannins.

Exquisite stuff. I likely would have guessed PN before gamay, and yet it's still varietally correct. Bright fruit in abundance (& minerality rather in abeyance -- there but hardly foregrounded). Nothing gamey or stemmy about this, either -- lithe and nervy juice.
Perfect with roast chicken.

Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Beaujolais Bash-Primarily 2013 and 2012 (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco): Creamier, sappier, weighted and greater length than the other 2 Bertrand wines. Very impressive. A producer to watch on the basis of 2 excellent bottlings from the current vintage.
