  • Garnet in the glass. Our host recommended a short decant and he was right. The muted aromas had a lovely bloom after 20 minutes with sour cherry, clove and earth emerging. Light, smooth and tart on the palate. It was almost finished before it went off the bloom an hour later. Not profound but very Burgundy and very pleasant.

  • nice ox blood colours, beginning to fade ever so slightly at the edges. really perfumed nose and lip-smacking acidity. really pleasant tannins, and quite butch, i'd say. really enjoyable, but it was much better with food.

  • Lovely limpid garnet/ruby with noticeable browning on the fairly broad paler rim. Nose is bright and crisp, showing raspberries, cranberries and soil. Mouth entry is very velvety and gentle, but there is real rustic, tannic grip just behind. Midpalate has good density of tart red fruit, still with a firm tannic structure. Plentiful acidity, but not out of balance. Nice touch of earthy spiciness on the modest finish. Very honest country wine - and will keep a few more years. *
