  • Creamy wild strawberries on the nose. Soft entry gives way to prominent acid and tannins indicating that this could do with a few more years in bottle. Classically perky aromatics. A sumptuous and impressive wine.

  • Modernist albeit with restrian and propably one the the top winemakers the country has to show.
Quite a dark colour, not purple. Dense red berry note, young and fresh wine albeit quite forward on the fruit and very approachable now, light herby edge, good acidity and this has a long future ahead. Xinomavro needs its 10yrs in bottle in our view and takes a bit of a Pinot twist later. A good 90-91 for now but with lots of future.

  • Agreed it is quite modernist. Tough to see Xino here, but great fruit and rich textures. Incredibly quaffable.

  • With Lamb kebabs at Peckham Bazaar. Very lovely match. The Xinamavro seems to me a mix between Pinot + Nebbiolo scents with the structure being a softer version of the later. Quite a delicious wine. Very pale crimson colour. Wild strawberries, spice, pepper and violets. very well balanced and (notwithstanding the comparison with nebbiolo) actually quite drinkable at this young age. Lots of potential. I would love to see this again in 5 years time.

  • Medium ruby colour. Medium+ intensity nose with aromas of dark cherries, dark plums, lavender, walnut, black pepper and hints of vanilla.

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium- acidity. It has slightly coarse tannins and a warm alcohol. It has a juicy medium+ fruit concentration with a medium+ body. The finish is long.

It is a very good wine with a nice complexity and a persistent finish, it shows potential but it lacks freshness.
