A compôte of red fruits, plums and tomato purée underpinned with firm tannins. It developed a smooth silky texture and exhibited some complexity, but it’s a wine best enjoyed with food rather than simply sampled at a tasting to be fully appreciated. CHP 90pts

Someone put a spoonful of tomato soup in my Burgundy!
Delicious. This is developing a touch of musty tertiaries. There's woodsmoke, spice, crunchy red fruit (glace cherries), blood, rose petals and earthy elements. High acid, medium+ tannin that is drying but sweet and a medium body. The finish is slightly sweet and moves into fruit and oak before slowly fading into a carpet of tannin.

Earl grey, ripe berry fruit, some gravelly and mineral notes. Quite chewy and juicy on the palate with lots of fruit still, but certainly a layer of savouriness which is typical to Xinomavro in the tomato paste vein. Feels a little closed still; my last bottle was also in this ilk so I wonder how long it will take to really unfurl. Aromatics arguably a little stunted and I’m unsure if they will come out or not. Regardless, a very good wine.

White pepper with raspberries and some stone on the nose. Nicely lifted red fruit with graphite and a delicate green, leafy note on the palate - tomato leaf? Lovely balance of acidity giving this real lift and vibrancy despite the age. Gentle finish with limited tannin.

Dry but very pure & clean, fruity on the palate, tannins in balance. Decanted & drunk over 5 hours with no deterioration, lovely

Greece tasting, TWS North London (Must and Lees, Islington): The last in a series of Xinomavros at a Greek tasting, this stood up very well.
