  • Well past its best. Sulphurous nose, rather harsh bitterness on the palate which overwhelms any residual honey. A shame I didn’t drink it at its peak.

  • Can't give it a point rating because I don't really like the wine, even though my guests were all *enthusiastic* about it. Dark Dark copper color. Nose is toasty and citrusy. Flavor profile starts out unctuous but thins out to me in an unpleasant way and has a slight bitter note that doesn't fit with the rich, somewhat sweet notes of the main taste. Will taste tomorrow, since open time seems to really help this wine.

  • Since I'm not knowledgeable about this Demi-sec, a little hard to tell what level I should be expecting. The nose is toast, straw, citrus -- quite luscious. The color is a beautiful golden copper. The taste has a disappointing thin quality. Not much of a beginning middle or end. Is neither dry nor sweet (thus I guess demi-sec), but at least as this bottle is presenting, it seems neither here nor there. Flavor is kind of flat, with a bit of a bitter taste at the end. Not much evident fruit. Overall pretty blah. Can't say that it is defective or spoiled -- no evidence of that. AND for a contrary opinion, Cynthia viewed the flavors as wonderfully delicious. Interestingly, after letting the wine air out for a half hour, my comments above are being negated -- because the flavors started to show, and the wine got thicker and buttery. Fascinating change for the better.
