Cherry, plum and a bit of smoke on the nose. Palate mostly tart ripe cherries. Almost heartburn level tart. There's also some plum, cranberry, pomegranate, cinnamon and black pepper. I found a previous bottle of Southard to be a great dinner companion. This also proved to be enjoyable with food, but otherwise almost too tart.

Really closed down on the pop. Not really all that fun to drink, and we had a bunch of other wines, so I capped it and set it aside to enjoy tomorrow or the next day. Tight, alcohol showing, big fruit, but not enjoyable at present.

Inky dark ruby with ripe cherry nose. Dry with chewy tannins, bold body and fruit, tart ripe cherries. Open for a day, enough acid to give life to the fruit and some oak on the finish for a good balance to a fruit forward fairly easy drinking red. Better with food, BBQ and pizza.
