This is a pretty serious wine for being only $22.00. Amazingly, it is still too young and could use another 3 - 5 years of aging to soften it up. The color is ruby garnet, medium (+) in intensity. The nose is earthy, organic forest floor, with some red fruit and tea leaf aromas. The nose is developed and complex. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity and tannins. The palate is still a little tight and would benefit from decanting. 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Quoting my wife: "not French, not California, must be Italian. Sangiovese, likely Chianti- and a good one." Well called.
