  • This happens sometimes. But I did not expect it to happen here! Going to a restaurant with your wine, to pay corkage. And the restaurant has no decent glassware. Sure, can happen anywhere, but I was at a "nicer" ($$$) place, IN SONOMA CA!!! They bring small water glasses to the table for the wine. WTF??? So, no rating here. I know it was good, but there's really no detail as to what we tasted (dense dark fruit, floral). The wine was good, food was good. Experience not good.

  • The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like violet, cherry and strawberry jam. It tastes like strawberry jam, strawberry and red currant. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

It is at its peak with fully integrated tannins. Fabulous Drinker

  • Suggest 12 hour decant. Decanted for 9 hours. Drank over 3 hours and it kept getting better though perhaps it was just warming up to an optimal temperature? Started at an 89 rating and wound up at a 92. Spicy fruit that became more vibrant as the evening wore on. Light to medium tannins and excellent balance between the fruit and tannins. Had with 36 hour sous vide pork ribs and they paired well, but it drank just as well by itself. Hard to compare to other wines as I have limited experience with pure Petite Verdots but this was a very enjoyable wine. Purchased at Rasa in mid 2017. Drinking really well now but probably has a few more years to evolve further

  • My bottle is drinking well immediately after opening. Aromatics similar to Cabernet Sauvignon, but the palate has more fruity blackberry character. Despite the alcohol this is very structured, balanced and not overly tannic. Well done. Pairs perfectly with grilled beef.

  • Light purple color with a muted bouquet and flavor of black fruit. Still quite tannic, and I am less certain about its evolution than the Wine Advocate, which rated it highly. This was my first pure Petit Verdot to my recollection. Tasted at the end of my family's memorable tour of the Washington wine region at the winery's tasting room on the outskirts of Walla Walla. One of the most enjoyable tastings at any winery that I have experienced over many years.
