  • Tasted over 2 hrs
    -med dark red
-somewhat lifted spicy red fruit wet stone
-med/med+ acidity, med/med- weight nice density somewhat one-dimensional black cherry liqueur with some earth tones, finishes with some astringency accentuating the med tannins
-overall quite nice with perhaps another year or two upside but not really up to 1er cru quality - suspect this is somewhat due to the vintage

  • Popped and poured over 3 hours for first hour had a bit of funk on the nose, after this floral notes and raspberry came out, flavors of rose water, raspberry at first a little woody (previous taster said smells of sandlewood but alas I don’t know what this tastes like, I didn’t get so much of a woody character on the nose, but more on the palate so may be a different character I’m noticing) making me think that stem inclusion occurred, a bit tannic with mild acidity, after a couple hours the funk goes away along with the woody characteristics and it becomes very primary in a good way, still floral with bramble and red cherry, saved some for day 2. I thoroughly enjoyed this on day one though.

Day 2 and is much more expressive on the nose red fruits and floral, flavors are more earthy, red cherry hint of vanilla, not tannic anymore, has a velvety mouthfeel, quite nice on day 2 making me think this will age well. Monopole.

  • Transparent ruby color. Cherry, blueberry, pomegranate, leather, sandalwood, lavendar and nutmeg on the nose. When very flat was PnP but the wine gets the original form in a moment. Nothing special on the nose, on the other hand the acidity and structure are quite profound for its early stage. I like its solid foundation and consistency. Vigorous and yet acute. Alc. 13%
