PNP. Red with amber rim. Bright nose, red cherry, menthol, oak and spice. Lovely palate, sweet fruit with a tart acidic core and some grainy tannins. Decent amount of sediment, so best to decant.

Charming nose of dark fruit spices, and herbs, with a surprisingly fruit forward palate, rich and slightly sweet. Good balance to complement herbed pork stew but med- length and simple red fruit attack holding it back. Much less acidic and more crowd pleasing than the 2001 Jadot CSJ earlier in the week.

Chicago Wine Flock...Winefool Serving Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Mostly Burgundy (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind in what turned out to be Faiveley 2001 flight. This "ringer" was opened 3-4 hours in advance, with a quick double decant. Rich black and red fruit with spice and dried herb hints. Comes across an nicely elegant, but moderate+ concentration and power. Clearly different than most in the flight, this was easy to identify as a "ringer."

Winefool Intro/Retro (Chez Winefool): Served blind. Clearly an outlier in the flight. The color is a more mature, browning garnet. Wonderful layered nose of mature red fruit, musk, forest floor, potpourri and spice. The palate is generous and complex. The first hint of sous bois. Really in a prime drinking zone right now, though it should age for years. My #3, Groups #3.
