  • The notes below capture this elegant and savory creature well. And maybe there is some cardamom thing going on — in any event, there was a lovely spicy character. In addition we found pleasant suggestions of white ground pepper. Highly enjoyable over two nights (at Harbor House, Elk). Yet another Neal Rosenthal import success.

  • Bourgogne Master Class CdN Tasting (Holiday, Utah): First of our Red Bourgogne for the night

Interesting nose from the start, Tart red fruits, cherry, dried cranberry. Also a spice note on the nose which I would call cardamom, not an oak flavor, potentially from stem inclusion? I also got a citrus aroma on this wine, not something I'm used to from Red Bourg wines. Diminished alcohol with M+ acid and medium to diminished tannins. Slightly floral as well with hints of raspberries and more red fruit on the palate. Still get that slightly spicy flavor, which reminded me of cardamom...

This wine is pretty and drinking well right now, truly enjoyable but I think it is built for the short term drinking, not aging. I would like to try more from this producer as I really liked this wine!

  • First time with this producer. definitely well made. This really had a great nose, with superripe strawberries, including the stems, red cherries, and mixed herbs. The palate was just okay - tangy, lots of acid, with moderate length and complexity, but not the concentration I'd like to see, and the fruit seemed a touch underripe. Maybe the vintage? Not bad for a villages and I really like this producer's style, so maybe re-try with another vintage/1er cru
