Clean medium intensity on the nose with aroma of violets sage blueberries cherry and amaro. Still developing.
Dry. High acid. Medium body. Medium alcohol. Medium tannin. Medium(+) intensity with flavours of cherry blueberry floral and herbal notes with a touch of cola leather and Parmesan rind.
Medium(+) finish. Very good. Great mix of fruit and savoury elements. Balanced and complex. A great Dolcetto.

Hot spicy nose, the palate is much sweeter red fruit and juicier than I’m used to in Dolcetto. But it is well balanced with woodsy notes and white pepper with plenty of acid in the finish. So it all hangs together. This is an unpretensious party or table wine, somewhat new world in character.

Icing sugar sweet but not for too long, while not entirely going away either. A nice soured paprika afterburn to tongue side follows. Then there's an oak frame with red berries balanced on top and stuck to the sides with little dabs of summer pudding syrup. The underside has a tiny tad of ardennes pale numbness which morphs into an almost marmitey sensation which is difficult to pin down but is definitely there. Some people will like that, others not. The warmth continues throughout. An intelligent, well crafted wine that has no pretensions - it knows it's a table wine - and it gets in where it fits in: pesto, ravioli, braised beef, boar with hazelnuts but it wouldn't feel out of place in the company of chicken or salad either. This wine has room for development and possibly a scholarship but there's a ceiling.
