Still very young, tannic, structured, chewy. Only starting to see hints of secondary notes. Lots of floral character on the nose, sour cherries, rose petals, lavender? Red fruits and tea on the palate. Medium to long finish.

Decanted for one hour. On the darker side color. Nose towards dark mature strawberries, a touch af kamfer and licorice. Palette with rounded acidity due to the warm vintage and Serralunga typical high end structure suggesting further saving potential. Medium or medium ++ tannins makes this accesable now but certainly no harm in saving for another 3 to 5 years. Highly enjoyable wine with the ravioli.

We knew there was a ringer in the tasting and we thought this was it - very modern for a Barolo - thought this could have been a Grenache which sounds crazy (great dark fruit profile but the tannins were non-existent). Poor notes but this was one of my least favorite wines of the tasting - given the good company, this is a fine wine but it did not stand out - most likely given young age.
