  Very velvety mouthfeel with refined tannins. Lots of tar and the florals are more subtle. This lacks the power and concentration of better vintages but the winemaking quality still shines through. It’s ready to drink now.

  Bu sur 2 jours, mieux le 1er.
  Robe grenat moyen, arômes plutôt discrets sur les fleurs et les épices, le calcaire.
  Puissant et encore marqué par l’alcool, les tanins sont devenus accrocheurs le 2eme jour.
  Très bonne bouteille mais au-dessous de celle dégustée il y a 18 mois.

  Totalement fermé, il lui a fallu presque 90 minutes dans le verre pour commencer à se livrer.
  Arômes de réglisse, de grenadine et de fleurs.
  Élégant mais puissant, austère, concentré, longue vie, au minimum 10 ans.
  Étonnant pour un 2014.

  Lightly intense with a deeper aroma with darker redberries, wet leaves and coffee. Medium-bodied wine with good fruit feeling. Darker redcurrant fruit, dense coffee, wet foliage and fine caramel. The wine is lacking in the middle part. Good bite in the tannins that dress the wine well. Good copy of the 2014 vintage.

  2018 Visit to Massolino: For release in September 2018. Alessandro described the Parafada as “typical Serralunga, marl and full south exposure with 65-70 year old vines”. Much darker colour than the Margheria. More powerful aromas than with the Margheria. “A soil inflection” noted Thierry, with slatey minerals, black liquorice, cherries and dark plums. Drinking it, the Parafada was tighter and more backward than the Margheria. Linear. Structured with serious dry extract. Red and black fruit and minerals with iron at its core. It needs 8+ years, I would guess.
