A Taste of Serralunga Dinner-La Festa del Barolo 2024 (Locanda Verde, New York): Strikingly deep color compared to the preceding Baudanas. Lavish mouth feel with deep, round dark fruit that is a mix of red and black. Tangy due to excellent acidity yet great natural sweetness backed by fine long tannins. Beautiful wine.

Grapes from 1.13 hectares of south-facing parcel in the vineyard Parfada in Serralunga d'Alba. 330 mho. The soil is made of bricks, limestone and sand. The vines are on average 55 years old.
Massolino made first vintage in 1990. Traditional in style, 15-20 days with fermentation and maceration at 31-33 ° C. Matures in oak barrels for about 30 months. 1 year bottle maturation.
Closer ruby red with light orange border on color.
Arch classic Serralunga with silk fragrance that strikes texture with lovely rose meadow over super sexy redberry fruit, leather, leaves that dry after a wet summery shower and light cinnamon stick. Rich and sensual mouthfeel. Textured, yet so silky. Juicy juicy red fruit, dried rosehip, orange peel, light menthol, exotic spices, forest floor and a touch of tar. Really firm finish with tannins that bite, but the harmonious fruit resists the tannins and stops them from getting too violent. Very nice wine! 94 points.

Wild red cherry aromas. A little earthiness. Not too rosie, not too tar-y. Medium ruby color. Some creaminess to the nose, maybe a little A&W-ishness. Palate shows some potpourri, def high tannin, very chewy at this youthful stage. Ah, needs loads of time obviously, drink 2025+

{winery} My favorite of the 2015 Cru bottlings. Shows the elegance, power, and structure of the top 2015 Barolo wines at this point, even if it's clearly getting better from here. So much fresh acidity, and complexity, with a flavor profile that kept reinventing itself in the most pleasureable way. As tempting as it is now, at least 2 years of continued rest is advised. To be released in September. highly recommended

Quick decant, beautiful rose, cherry, hints of menthol, tobacco. Will get better with time.
