A far more evolved colour than you’d expect for a wine so young with a medium garnet core and a pale garnet outer edge. Inexpressive, one dimensional floral and herbaceous nose. Thin, primary palate of red fruit and damp herbs. Structurally speaking this wine - unlike good Brunello’s - has no ageing potential. The tannin structure has almost completely resolved and little acidity remains. A huge concern for a such a young wine. An inexpressive and poor representation of Brunello lacking any sense of character. I suspect some bottle variation or poor storage before the wine entered my possession since it’s inexplicable that this wine can be as far removed from Brunello as it is. Not scored on the evidence of this bottle.

On top now - no more tannins to absorb. A bit surprised it does not have more to give. Anyhow a good typical Brunello from a good year with a round and harmonized solid sangiovese taste

Medium tawny. Cherry compote-soaked spicy oak. Acidity provides lift and vibrancy. Appealing and despite the modern oak treatment, it’s easy to find the citrus-tinged cherry and earthy flavors that are hallmarks of Brunello. The tannins are fully resolved.
